SRF "10 vor 10" - Cancer diagnosis in young adulthood

Young adults are diagnosed with cancer more frequently today than in the past, but there is often a lack of suitable services for 18 to 39-year-olds. "10 to 10" uses the example of a sufferer to show how drastic the diagnosis is and how important sharing and support are.

More and more young people are being diagnosed with cancer - at the same time, the chances of survival are increasing. Progress that gives hope and raises new questions.

In the SRF - Swiss Radio and Television 10vor10 report, our Vice President Sacha Rothschild talks about possible reasons for this development and the growing need for research.

One thing is clear: as more and more people live after cancer treatment, quality of life is becoming more of a focus. It is no longer just about survival, but about optimizing treatment - with fewer side effects and better long-term prospects for patients.

This is precisely where independent clinical cancer research comes in: It makes it possible to efficiently develop existing therapies and medicines further - free from market pressure and in the interests of those affected.

The SRF report shows why this research is more important today than ever!
