2026 Press Conference: Clinical Research in Switzerland Under Pressure
The number of clinical trials in Switzerland is declining. This has implications not only for patients, who are consequently less likely to gain early access to innovative therapies, but also for Switzerland as a business hub and for the research ecosystem.
To mark World Cancer Research Day, the Swiss Cancer Institute and Interpharma are highlighting why studies are increasingly being conducted abroad and what it will take for Switzerland to regain its position as a leading research hub. The focus is on three key areas: streamlined processes, sustainable funding for independent academic research, and a national health data repository.
