Annual Report 2025 Online: Research, Progress and Transformation
The Swiss Cancer Institute (SCI) Annual Report 2025 is now available and, for the first time, published entirely in digital format. With this step, we aim to make our activities, projects and research achievements more accessible while contributing to a more sustainable use of resources.
The report offers an opportunity to look back on a year that was significant in many ways for our organisation. In addition to important advances in clinical cancer research, 2025 marked a major milestone in our institutional development: the transition from SAKK to the Swiss Cancer Institute.
Our digital Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of the diverse research projects, clinical studies and initiatives that were advanced throughout the year. Together with our national network of researchers, hospitals and partner institutions, we continued to develop clinical trials, launch new projects and generate valuable insights that contribute to improving cancer treatment and patient care.
The report also highlights the strategic and organisational development of the SCI. New partnerships, innovative research approaches and the continuous enhancement of our structures and processes help strengthen clinical cancer research in Switzerland and contribute to shaping the future of oncology.
The Annual Report opens with forewords by Prof. Dr. med. Miklos Pless, Chairman of the Board until 31 December 2025, and Vincent Gruntz, CEO of the Swiss Cancer Institute. Their contributions offer personal reflections on a year characterised by research, collaboration and important developments across the Institute.
More than a summary of past activities, the Annual Report 2025 demonstrates how scientific ideas are transformed into concrete research projects, how collaboration drives innovation, and how the SCI works together with its partners to advance the future of cancer medicine.
