Gastrointestinal tumors

Progress in investigations

Research on gastrointestinal tumors brings hope for many cancers. Find out how these innovative approaches are being tested.

Project Group Gastrointestinal Tumors

The project group is multidisciplinary and has grown by 25% over the past two years. It brings together medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and gastroenterologists from various specialties to exchange ideas. As the largest project group, our activities encompass nearly all common and some rare gastrointestinal tumors, as well as a wide range of research areas, including phase III trials, health economics, and quality of life studies.
The group welcomes new study proposals and is always seeking innovative ideas.
Conducting clinically relevant studies is becoming increasingly challenging, as patients are being divided into ever smaller subgroups. This makes international collaboration more important than ever. However, there is strong competition for ideas and funding across Europe. Despite these challenges, the project group is committed to remaining successful in this constantly evolving landscape.
