Swiss OncoData Infrastructure (SODI)

SODI - Swiss OncoData Infrastructure

Standardized registry data for oncology.

In times of big data, data interoperability and exchange are becoming increasingly important. The Swiss OncoData Infrastructure (SODI) is an infrastructure project of the Swiss Cancer Institute that enables the collection of standardized and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data from oncology registries of its member institutions.
SODI creates the basis for an interoperable, high-quality and analyzable registry data landscape - ideal for data pooling, exchange and secondary use of clinical registry data.

SODI - The data standard for oncology registry projects of the Swiss Cancer Institute.

Core components of SODI

  • Common semantic core data set for oncology registries
  • Standardized eCRF in secuTrial®
  • Automated, standardized validation processes
  • Central data warehouse
  • Secure and interoperable interface to BioMedIT (via the SPHN Connector as part of the SPO-NDS project)

What SODI makes possible

  • Involvement of all member institutions - including those outside university centers - in SPHN/BioMedIT projects
  • Efficient and cost-saving creation of eCRFs
  • Automatic data validation for the highest data quality
  • Fast and standardized data collection by hospitals
  • Exchangeable and analyzable registry data
  • Collection of interoperable and reusable data
