Swiss Cancer Institute/Roche Young Investigator Award
The prize is endowed with CHF 30'000.– and is intended to promote innovation and excellence in the further development of cancer therapies. It is also intended to support collaboration among emerging leaders in this field.
Requirements for candidates
With this scholarship, we offer a support program for young researchers and their efforts in clinical oncology research. The goal is to honor and support young professionals on this important path. The eligible candidates are:
- a doctor or researcher from the Swiss Cancer Institute network
- whose project is mainly carried out in Switzerland
- ≤40 years old on December 31, 2026 (can be waived if, for example, the candidate has changed careers)
Focus
The focus of the award is on projects that have the potential to achieve significant improvements in patient management and cancer treatment outcomes in the following indications: lung, breast, gastrointestinal, hematologic cancers or pan-tumor.
Applications
Applications must be written in English and include the following information:
- Project proposal (see Eligible Projects) max. 5 pages, including rationale, methodology, feasibility, budget and potential impact
- CV of the candidate
- Letter of support from the respective head of the candidate's current institution, including a guarantee to provide sufficient research time for the project
- Publication list of the candidate
- Publications can be primary research or review articles
- The candidate must be named as author in all publications
- Publications must have been published in a peer-reviewed journal or accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal in the period 2016-2026
- If applicable, any other relevant information or documentation
