60 years of SAKK: Commitment to cancer research

SAKK's Young Oncology Academy (YOA) is celebrating its 10th anniversary - in the same year that SAKK looks back on 60 years of successful clinical cancer research.

"We roll out the red carpet for the young mentees."

Prof. Dr. med. Miklos Pless, SAKK President

Initiated by Prof. Dr. med. Miklos Pless, the mentorship program supports twelve committed young oncologists each year with courses on presentation, statistics and study development as well as a visit to an international specialist conference.

The YOA pursues the goal of sustainably strengthening careers and further developing clinical research in Switzerland. The Academy is constantly evolving and is also planning programs for non-oncology disciplines in the future.

As a non-profit and independent organization, SAKK is nationally networked, internationally recognized and conducts studies for all types of cancer and specialist areas. It stands for cross-indication, independent cancer research in Switzerland - since 1965.
